DetailsDescription:
Console scroll was removed in the Linux kernel for both framebuffer and vga consoles. It would be nice to have it back. It is sorely needed any time a system is being installed or updated from a console and also when recovering a system that doesn't use gui or has a borked gui. Additional info: I believe the requisite code was removed upstream around kernel version 5.9. Upstream bug report: https://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=209421 Steps to reproduce: Open a console (alt-F2), log in, and create output that scrolls past the screen (e.g."ls /usr/lib" or "pacman -Syu") and then try to scroll up with /shift+pgup/. Nothing happens. It should scroll up to previous output. |

So it was removed upstream, what do you expect Arch to do?

Report back upstream that "lusers" are complaining. Other than that, there's not much for Arch to do.
