DetailsDescription:
If Firefox is installed on a computer where Xorg stuff is not installed, it does not start unless Xorg fonts are installed manually. Additionally, it does not show Unicode web pages (e. g. Russian) correctly unless there are Unicode (preferrably TTF for better rendition) fints installed. Additional info: * package version(s) firefox 2.0.0.x Steps to reproduce: Prepare a fresh Arch Linux installation. Install Firefox. Make sure /usr/share/fonts does not exist or is empty Try to run it (/opt/mozilla/bin/firefox) It will not start complaining of no fonts installed. Install Xorg font packages and Unicode fonts Firefox will start. Please update dependencies for the Firefox package to include mininal necessary set of fonts. Or, if possible, configure Firefox so it uses fonts provided by X server by default. |
