Details"/etc/rc.d/network stop" always gives a FAILED message
i use "eth0=dhcp" in rc.conf, and think the problem is that dhcpcd doesn't generate /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-eth0.pid ifdown() { varname="\$${1}" eval new_ifline=$varname if [ "$new_ifline" = "dhcp" ]; then [ -f /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-${1}.pid ] && \ /bin/kill `cat /etc/dhcpc/dhcpcd-${1}.pid` else /sbin/ifconfig $new_ifline down fi return $? } Removing the command which kill the process obviuosly lead to "DONE" message |

This is actually the same bug that I reported back as BUG #216. I can see that the ifdown() has been rewritten, however, it still does not account for 'consumer' router's (Linksys, SMC, D-Link) that hand-out 'infinite' IP leases. I'm not sure how to re-write the (), but, perhaps you could make it run the 'ifconfig $1 down' even if the $new_ifline="dhcp", BUT the pid is not found.
These router's don't typically allow the adjustment of the lease time.
Thanks.
