Description:
xdg-desktop-portal-gnome depends on evince. Evince exists as an official flatpak, adn xdg-desktop-portal-gnome will use it if installed. But the archlinux pakcage xdg-desktop-portal-gnome needs the archlinux package of evince as a dependency, even if it will work without it. I think it should be made optional, so users wanting to use the flatpak can. The flatpak is very usefull because it sandboxes evince, so it is less likely for a user to get hacked. Additional info: * package version(s) 42.3 Steps to reproduce: Install xdg-desktop-portal-gnome. Install evince from any flatpak repo. Remove the evince package. Get an error becuase it is required by xdg-desktop-portal-gnome. |

No it doesn't. evince is currently listed as optional [1]. You're asking for it to be made optional when it already is.
Whatever problem you're having, this is not it. There must be something else going on with your system. Have you fully read [2]?
