Does this also happen when you rebuild it from abs without the patch? If so, it's an issue in alsa on your system, you should configure esd to use OSS then.

dunno, just ran pacman -Syu and upgraded esd. I also reinstalled alsa-lib, alsa-utils and esd. Did not help - only thing that helped was to downgrade esd. It is now IgnorePkg = esd in pacman.conf

Could you try downgrading to 0.3.8-1 or building the current package from abs with the patch left out? I can't do anything with your information because I can't reproduce any bug with esound on my hardware.

i downgraded to 0.2.38-2 and decided to IgnorePkg upgrades in pacman.conf. If I am the only one with these problems no use babbling over something that works if I don't upgrade esd :)

running makepkg on 0.2.38-3 failed

install: cannot stat '/var/abs/daemons/esd/src/esd' : No such file or directory

Seems new update works now :) I took out esd from rc.conf.
