python-numpy doesn't install if its files are already in file system. that is a problem.

Sounds like a local problem, not a package problem.

when i update it must replace the files. i know that i have numpy installed, really. i want to update it but when i try to it gives me a bunch of "that file already exists"

Without actual logs, errors, and versions, there's nothing to be done here. It sounds like you either were using pip as root or you had a pacman database problem.
