After installing for the first time and running superslicer I got the error "Can't open directory /home/me/.config/SuperSlicer/vendor. Config bundles from here can't be loaded." I tried using the configuration wizard but it doesn't contain any printers so the finish button remains grayed out.

Additional info:

Steps to reproduce:
Run superslicer with nothing in /home/me/.config/SuperSlicer

Related upstream reports [1][2]. Can you still reproduce the problem? There has been an update so maybe the issue is resolved? Please let us know.

The predefined printer profiles are inside an optional dependency (superslicer-profiles).

You can install it from the aur, it was not moved to community. https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/superslicer-profiles-git

This was already discussed at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/superslicer

Hi Lukas,

Thanks for the help!

I get a 404 at https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/superslicer and there are no comments on https://archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/superslicer/. I wasn't aware of optdepends on packages so I'll keep an eye out for that going forward.

Out of curiosity, what's the use case for not installing profiles?

Each profile does include predefined setting for a printer. So you do not have to create one from scratch.

But it is optional, because many people dose still create their own profiles from scratch, like me. For example because their is not predefined profile for the used printer.

I think the discussed get lost after the move to community and can not seen anymore. But it should not be imported anymore. (The link was a bad idea)

For solving you issue it should be enough to start a new profile from scratch, but using a predefined should be easier.

So it appears we do have an actual bug here i.e. optional dep on AUR pkg?

Hi guys, the profiles are now bundled in the package, you no longer need to install the AUR package (you will certainly need to uninstall it before updating btw).

Maybe the the profiles should be moved to own package. Because prusaslicer, superslicer and slic3r does all use the same profiles.

Furthermore superslicer does still optional depend on superslicer-profiles. This is not needed anymore since the profiles are now included inside the package.
