On a fully updated system with these packages: linux 5.18.arch1-1, virtualbox 6.1.34-3, virtualbox-host-modules-arch 6.1.34-10

I'm experiencing constant crashes running a Windows guest VM (WinDev2204Eval.ova) https://developer.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/downloads/virtual-machines/ .

It looks like this is a known issue with a patch available upstream: https://www.virtualbox.org/ticket/20914

The build repository already has a 020-linux518.patch file, this contains some but not all changes that are in the upstream patch. After rebuilding packages using the upstream patch, and installing the resulting virtualbox-6.1.34-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst, and virtualbox-host-dkms-6.1.34-3-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst packages, I no longer experience any crashes.

I've attached the patch file I used to this task. It's just the one upstream with the paths changed to work in the build system.

A similar report: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=2038369

Probably the upstream patch can be backported to 6.1.34
