Andy, don't know how to tell if you built this for x86_64 or not. Please re-assign it if you need to.

[pierre@athlon64 ~]$ host www.yahoo.com
www.yahoo.com is an alias for www.yahoo-ht3.akadns.net.
www.yahoo-ht3.akadns.net has address 69.147.114.210

Is about host from packet host, not from dnsutils.
# pacman -Q host
host 20070128-1

Any reason for maintaining two tools that do the same?
Comment by Dale Blount (dale) - Friday, 22 June 2007, 17:42 GMT
Same reason we have multiple browsers,DEs,bittorrent clients. Choice.

So let's have several ping programs, several telnet programs, etc. This is basic functionality.
Comment by Dale Blount (dale) - Saturday, 23 June 2007, 00:43 GMT
We already do. extra/fping and extra/putty.

Host works fine out of the dnsutils pkg, the host package howevery is buggy, thanks to tardo[nix] for this.

not other distribution neither in Linux nor *BSD world has it for x86_64. couldn't find a solution myself. pkg removed as not working from the repos.
