Recently, nvidia published their GPU kernel modules as open-source: https://github.com/NVIDIA/open-gpu-kernel-modules
For the betterment of us FOSS lovers, we should switch to the open version as soon as possible.

For the time being, we'll provide the separate package nvidia-open until the new open source driver is good enough.
