Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  Clearly not an Arch packaging issue. If still happening, please report upstream to the kernel folks.

* package version(s):
* linux 5.16.16.arch1-1
* linux-firmware 20220411.705f19a-1

Using older kernel (coz suspend bug with bluetooth enabled on 5.17) and latest firmware, network controller working great.

On my machine, this appears to have resolved itself over the last several days... all my module reloading, rebooting, downgrading/re-upgrading packages didn't seem to do any good, but a few days later after regular system updates and a couple reboots, my wifi is now working again and `dmesg` shows as follows:

```
[ 2.781768] iwlwifi 0000:3d:00.0: loaded firmware version 36.ca7b901d.0 8265-36.ucode op_mode iwlmvm
[ 3.099572] iwlwifi 0000:3d:00.0: Detected Intel(R) Dual Band Wireless AC 8265, REV=0x230
[ 3.294358] iwlwifi 0000:3d:00.0: base HW address: a0:51:0b:6b:a8:cd
[ 3.374971] iwlwifi 0000:3d:00.0 wlp61s0: renamed from wlan0
```

I'm not sure what changed, since I don't believe there's been any firmware or kernel upgrades between the breakage and the "fix", but for my machine at least it appears resolved

The same thing happens with Intel AC 7260 with firmware version 17.3216344376.0 7260-17.ucode op_mode iwlmvm.
Dmesg from boot and dmesg since the failure happens has been attached to this comment.

Can confirm that it still happens on a Intel 7260 chip an Kernel version 5.18.3
Comment by Terra (terrablue) - Monday, 16 January 2023, 10:59 GMT
Can confirm this has recently started happening on kernel 6.1.6. Shutting down and starting again resolves the issue, but it's still a nuisance.

Don't know if this is the same issue but my wifi card in my laptop Dell Latitude E7470 is also becoming missing sometimes, lspci isn't even showing the device. Kernel change did not fix the issue and modprobe gives no result as there isn't even a device being detected. But the card is detected in BIOS.

Linux 6.4.10-arch1-1
Network Controller: Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 (rev 3a)

Output of dmesg | grep iwlwifi

@minhaz5000, please don't "necro" old tickets. If you need troubleshooting assistance with your system, please visit the proper Arch support channels (Forum/IRC/Mailing Lists/Reddit/etc). kernel issues are rarely caused by Arch packaging and invariably will need to be reported upstream.
