https://github.com/grazzolini/mkinitcpio-tinyssh hasn't seen updates in over three years. This suggests to me the package may have been abandoned. This would leave us with two options:

1. use a pkgbuild patch to effectively make the fixes described in the GH issue linked in the task details
2. for the repo and make the fix

From peeking at his GitHub activity, grazzolini is certainly still active, but I agree with your assessment that this repo seems abandoned. It is a very simple repo though, with only around 130 lines of bash script. Ideally the patch could be made to his repository if he could be made aware of this by someone, assuming he hasn't already and is not just ignoring this or is busy and hasn't gotten to this.

I'd be happy to implement either of these solutions, but wouldn't they require creating a new package, given we don't have access to the existing one?

Hi decaby7e :)

I didn't check grazzolini's GH profile--if they're still active on GH, we could ask them to transfer ownership of the repo or give one of us push access. If that doesn't work then we could fork the repo and ask the maintainer of the arch package to adjust the upstream repo URL in the pkgbuild.

I will send him and email and request him to add me or you to have push access. I CCed you.

Thanks!

Just coming back to this now and it's looking like this package has been abandoned. Me and Michael reached out a while back but received no response in 2 months. I think it would be best to fork and update the upstream at this point.

It looks like Razzolini is also the maintainer of the Arch package so I don't think that's going to be of much help in changing the upstream URL. I think the next step would be to contact someone that runs the community repository and have them override that?

I'm still active, but since I have not used tinyssh in more than a year, I have not been maintaining that project. I wouldn't mind transferring it to someone else and even keeping the Arch package updated to whatever new upstream it lands on. However, this package is not standalone, it goes along netconf, (dropbear) and utils. Which means maintaining more than just tinyssh.

Hi, any updates on this issue? If not, I suppose we should remove it from the repos? Or can we find someone to transfer it to? Thanks in advance!
