As of profanity v0.12 libmesode is no longer used in favour of libstrophe. Thus libmesode upstream has deprecated/archived the project [1]

Note: Currently profanity has invalid dependency on libmesode, which should be addressed first [2]

Humble poke? The project is deprecated and archived for around 2 years. There are no user of it in the official repos and AUR.
