please verify if it's actually still broken.

slightly less broken than with 5.15 as in there is somewhat discernable output on the screen tho the bootsplash doesn't get cleared.

attachment #1 is a screenshot taken with fbgrab which looks boringly normal
attachment #2 is a photo of what actually appears on screen

it's perfectly possible to log into the system and once one starts X/Wayland everything works as expected.

gpu driver is nvidia-dkms 510.54, gpu is a gtx1080ti.

are you booting with nvidia-drm.modeset=1 ?
Comment by Akatsuki Rui (akiirui) - Wednesday, 23 March 2022, 14:37 GMT
Xorg thinks I have two monitor. One unknown monitor and one real monitor.
And it let my desktop resolution equal 3840*2160(unknown monitor) + 3840*2160(real monitor), and output to my real monitor.

Rollback to 5.16.16 (no SIMPLEFB) can fix it. And I have same issue in 5.15 (with SIMPLEFB)

yeah. with nvidia-drm.modeset=0 the console looks as it should.

EDIT: only noticed now - switching VTs causes the display(s) to go blank and eventually turn off due to no input signal detected. going back to the first VT brings the display(s) back. happens regardles of modesetting.

I think I'm hitting this with `linux-zen` too; my NVIDIA laptop will boot to a green GDM and TTYs are black. `linux-mainline` at 5.17 is fine.

Yeah, it's currently enabled there, too. Will be disabled with 5.17.1 at the latest.
