Hi,

I'd like to remove cairo from my system, and as poppler is the last thing which requires it, I'd like to know if something can be done about that...

Aah, I just saw Pango requires poppler as well, and Pango is required by a bit too much to be able to remove it.. So I'm sorry, but I think you shouldn't waste time on it. Unless cairo could be removed trivially, or something... I still think it's weird that it is such a must-have.
