[2007-06-09 12:46] upgraded heimdal (0.7.2-6 -> 0.8.1-3)

libgssapi.so.4 -> /usr/lib/libgssapi.so.1 is owned by heimdal 0.8.1-3

+++
ldd /usr/bin/mplayer | grep libgss
libgssapi.so.4 => /usr/lib/libgssapi.so.4 (0xb6d43000)

My solution to this problem on 4 libs missing: ln -s

Why deps. of mplayer dont list heimdal?

Solution would be to upgrade your system. One of the dependencies for mplayer is linked to heimdal and had a rebuild, you didn't upgrade it, so mplayer wants to link to the old gssapi.so.4 because of this outdated package on your system.

Upgrade...
I'm using MPlayer 1.0rc1-4.2.0, Heimdal 0.8.1-3
...
[root@mordor ~]# pacman -S mplayer heimdal
:: mplayer-1.0rc1-6: local version is up to date. Upgrade anyway? [Y/n] n
warning: mplayer-1.0rc1-6 is up to date -- skipping
:: heimdal-0.8.1-3: local version is up to date. Upgrade anyway? [Y/n] n
warning: heimdal-0.8.1-3 is up to date -- skipping
local database is up to date

[dvd@mordor ~]$ ldd /usr/bin/mplayer | grep not
libgssapi.so.4 => not found
libkrb5.so.17 => not found
libasn1.so.6 => not found
libroken.so.16 => not found

And what if you run pacman -Syu? There's a dependency on smbclient, which depends on a specific version of heimdal.

No upgrade smbclient.
I installed subversion (deps. neon -> deps. heimdal>=0.8.1) but mplayer build with kerberos configure option =/
This break my mplayer and the others friends.
