Comparing to the latest java version I am searching for the missing release file:
https://github.com/archlinux/svntogit-packages/blob/packages/java-openjdk/trunk/PKGBUILD#L155

You can clearly see, that this is available in java 11 and 17:
pacman -F release
extra/jre-openjdk-headless 15.0.2.u7-1 [installed: 17.0.3.u3-1]
usr/lib/jvm/java-15-openjdk/release
extra/jre11-openjdk-headless 11.0.10.u9-1 [installed: 11.0.15.u3-1]
usr/lib/jvm/java-11-openjdk/release
