DetailsThere has been much discussion on -dev packages and library headers. An other problem for developers is the lack of debug symbols in the library packages. IMHO the debian way of having separate -dbg packages would be a nice and simple way to solve this. Compiling huge libraries from abs just for the debugsyms is quite of a non-solution...

increasing package size a lot is also no solution. go on and recompile them yourself. abs was just made for that. we _might_ offer packages with debug symbols in unstable and testing one day. not in the stable repos.
