Details

Description:

`systemd` is required to build the package. Or the compilation will fail. This was discovered in [1] and we've made a patch [2] to fix this.

Additional info:
* package version(s)
* config and/or log files etc.
* link to upstream bug report, if any

Steps to reproduce:

Build the package without `systemd`, like in a chroot environment

systemd is in [core] and is expected to always be installed, for Arch Linux.

Build chroots do NOT have base, which I assume is what you meant, as nobody ever expects all of core to be installed.

The systemd package is not in the base-devel group (but it is required by the base meta package, which is not installed to the build chroot by default), so needs to be added to makedepends.

It seems that with the latest change[1] of PKGBUILD. `systemd` is not required anymore.

@xyproto: My apologies if I wrongfully reopened this. Will close now

@xyproto: Do note, that the package creates a non-standard directory though, due to `./configure --localstatedir=/var`: /var/kobodeluxe (which likely should be /var/lib/kobodeluxe or /run/kobodeluxe?).
