This doesn't sound like a packaging issue given the information here. Please report this issue to nvidia upstream.

I've been having the same issue using both an Intel iGPU and an Nvidia 1660Ti on my laptop. Using optimus-manager to switch between modes also results in the same error. xrandr fails to change modes with the error "configure crtc x failed", and xorg log has "(EE) modeset(0): failed to set mode: No such file or directory"

I've also confirmed that this issue only begins with kernel version 5.16.0+

I've attached a dmesg with drm.debug=0xe log_buf_len=4M attached to the kernel commandline for further debugging as well.
   dmesg.log (196.6 KiB)
