Description:

hi,
pv is embedded and used in my initcpio: since its last update (1.6.20), no progress information is displayed during the initialization phase. no problem, however, once the system is launched.
the return to the previous version (1.6.6) corrects this inconvenience.

Steps to reproduce:

embed pv 1.6.20 in the initcpio,
add break to the boot parameters and once in the offered shell,
use the command "pv -S -s 1024 /dev/zero > /dev/null"

Reason for closing:  Upstream
Additional comments about closing:  Issue is known upstream and it should start working again the next time they have a release after a fix is in place. Not much we can do in packaging here.

Is this still happening? The upstream issue is probably this [1].

there is something new for this issue, but not yet tested : https://github.com/a-j-wood/pv/pull/64
