I don't know maybe it was discussed somewhere, but since YYYYMMDD and x.x.x versions are incompatible, maybe it's better to separate them? Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: Since there is no package depending on the old version in the official repos and I am not interested in maintaining multiple versions of this library, I am closing this.
Feel free to create a libdwarf-legacy package on AUR if you wish.
