Description:

After the most recent update of `texlive` due to  FS#72996  , when using "latexmk" through Kile, it no longer uses the instructions in `.latexmkrc`.

Additional info:

* texlive-core 2021.61403-1
* kile 2.9.93-3

* My ".latexmkrc" contains one line: `$pdf_mode = 4;`

does it work if you run it directly?

Yes, it does work as expected if I run `latexmk` on the terminal, directly. Sorry, I should have mentioned that.

kile has no interface for latexmk at all out of the box. Is this something you added yourself?

Correct. In Settings > Configure Kile > Tools > Build, one can add custom rules, and I added one with the following entries:
Command: latexmk
Options: -output-format=pdf -view=pdf -synctex=1 %source

That worked fine up until the latest update.

Please report this upstream. This is certainly not a packaging issue.
