this bug has been reported upstream at: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-99447
as per the discussion there, it's been fixed upstream and it doesn't affect qt6, although current qt5-base on arch linux is affected. there's a patch referenced there (https://codereview.qt-project.org/c/qt/qtbase/+/327425). i tried compiling qt from the PKGBUILD appending that patch and it works. what's the process to get it into arch's qt5?

let me know if you need any more info!

Please submit a pull request at https://invent.kde.org/qt/qt/qtbase with a cherry-pick of the commit to the kde/5.15 branch.
