Details--timeout option doesn't work in dialog-1.1_20070514-1.
I have found a bug about very similar problem (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=418905), and I was able to create a patch. I wrote to dialog's author, but it could be fixed in Arch before official change is made. (It is annoying if NET_PROFILES=(menu) in rc.conf, as network profile selection dialog does not timeout :/ )
