DetailsDescription:
The new Blender 3.0 Arch package seems to be lacking Nvidia Optix support. Optix works when using the official tar ball from blender.org, but the Optix settings don't even show up in Settings when using the Arch Blender package. The Arch packages for Blender 2.93 and earlier versions all supported Optix out of the box, so this appears to be a regression. Please re-enable Optix in the Arch builds as they significantly speedup renders. Steps to reproduce: 1. Install Blender from official Arch repos. 2. Go to Edit->Preferences->System. 3. Note that only CPU and CUDA rendering options are available. |

Additional comments about closing: NVIDIA has uploaded the optix headers and Blender built fine against them. This will be in rel-4.

Yeah, I asked NVIDIA about hosting the Optix 7.4 headers. Waiting on an answer. As it stands right now, we can't redistribute them legally.

NVIDIA said they'd upload just the Optix headers somewhere soon, rejoice!

Awesome! Thanks for resolving this so quickly. I appreciate all the packaging efforts.

Also waiting anxiously for this!

Welp, I bugged the guy from NVIDIA twice, gotta wait now I suppose.
