Description:

After  FS#72707  , pam_motd now shows not just /etc/motd, but other motd files too and allows for overrides. See https://man.archlinux.org/man/pam_motd.8 .
Normally I'd suggest moving /etc/motd to /usr/lib/motd (since /usr/lib/ is package manager territory so it's more appropriate there), but the packaged motd file is empty, it can be simply removed instead.
This also allows getting rid of /usr/share/factory/etc/motd and removing /etc/motd from backup files.
