After Normally I'd suggest moving /etc/motd to /usr/lib/motd (since /usr/lib/ is package manager territory so it's more appropriate there), but the packaged motd file is empty, it can be simply removed instead. This also allows getting rid of /usr/share/factory/etc/motd and removing /etc/motd from backup files. See attached PKGBUILD diff. Let's drop it. I see no reason to keep an empty file.
