Description:
I have an HP EliteBook 8540p with an NVIDIA NVS 5100M GPU, which has been unable to boot properly ever since I upgraded to kernel 5.15. I can see the systemd boot messages fine, but when it tries to launch my display manager (SDDM), it goes to a completely black screen and stays there indefinitely. I still cannot see anything when switching between different ttys, although I can still (blindly) log in and run commands. This issue persists even on the latest kernel release (5.15.4-arch1-1). Additional info: * package version(s) linux 5.15.4-arch1-1 systemd 249.7-1 xorg-server 21.1.1-3 xf86-video-nouveau 1.0.17-2 * config and/or log files etc. The end of my Xorg.0.log reads as follows (timestamps removed): (II) NOUVEAU(0): NVEnterVT is called. (EE) NOUVEAU(0): failed to set mode: Invalid argument (EE) Fatal server error: (EE) failed to create screen resources(EE) * link to upstream bug report, if any Steps to reproduce: Attempt to boot into Arch Linux installation with the config described above. |

Does it boot with a different kernel (e.g. -lts)?
