Description:
Can we backport the referenced patch (GitHub pull request) to the Arch Linux package of openal, please? It would somehow improve user experience. Waiting for a new release might take a while: owner of the repo is not sure when to do releases, and it seems like it might take a year or two. Telegram stuff claims they are cherry-picking it into an official binary already. Additional info: * openal 1.21.1-1 * telegram-desktop 3.2.3-1 * https://github.com/telegramdesktop/tdesktop/issues/17232 * https://github.com/kcat/openal-soft/pull/543 Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Telegram. 2. Make a call, or play some audio files/messages. 3. Look at the "Audio Volume" applet (KDE Plasma) 4. Audio stream shows up as "telegram-desktop" binary name instead of the app's displayed name like "Telegram Desktop". Same is true for any openal client app. See more info in upstream links. |
