DetailsDescription:
While not a primary functionality but absolutely an important function of KDEConnect is the ability open your mobile device's file storage. The lack of sshfs as a mandatory dependency means it can take users some time to realize that sshfs was not installed and thus, the reason why they couldn't properly open their devices w/ KDEConnect as they would be able to on another distro or arch-derivative. Being a flexible distro is arch's strength, but leaving important functionality out that produces an error is confusing and frustrating. If this is considered optional functionality by the KDE team then I will close this post myself, but it is built into the app by default so I would have a hard time believing it is in fact optional functionality. I do want to acknowledge a previous bug report that brought this up but I believe the issue was worth raising again. Additional info: * https://archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/kdeconnect/ * https://invent.kde.org/network/kdeconnect-kde/-/blob/master/plasmoid/package/contents/ui/DeviceDelegate.qml * This post assumes the primary desktop environment as KDE (aka KDE Plasma) Steps to reproduce: 1. pacman -S kdeconnect 2. All required dependencies will be installed (not including sshfs) 3. Pair a device with KDEConnect on the desktop 4. Left click the KDEConnect icon in the System Tray 5. The device name will be listed at the top, left click the "Tool Button" as it is named in the markup 6. Browse this device, producing an error of "sshfs ... exit 1" |

Reason for closing: Won't implement
Additional comments about closing: Arch users are expected to read optdepends

Not everyone cares about accessing their phones file storage. The fact some people might not figure out optdepends (which are shown when you install the package anyway) sounds like a them-problem.
