Details

Since linux-lts supports zstd compression, and xz only has a slightly higher compression ratio at the expense of a lot of extra CPU cycles, it could be warranted that kernel modules move to using zstd compression like the linux and linux-zen kernels do.

5.10 doesn't support zstd compression. This was introduced to 5.13:

Thank you, I thought modules had received support at the same time as initramfs.
