Details

As of the 1.46.1 release, upstream libguestfs devs split out the "guestfs-tools" into a separate package. This is detailed in the release announcement[1] which the Arch maintainer appears to have missed when updating libguestfs to 1.46.1

Therefore, super useful tools like virt-sparsify, virt-builder, etc have instantly disappeared from the distro!

It would be wonderful if you could please add the new "guestfs-tools" package into [community] to account for this oversight.

Feel free to use my personal PKGBUILD as a guide (attached). Thanks!

I went ahead and put it up on the AUR in the meantime: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/guestfs-tools/

Also, I'm totally cool with it disappearing should it get adopted into community, fwiw :)

https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/guestfs-tools/ is now updated to the just released guestfs-tools 1.48, and has no build problems (the issue affecting 1.46.1 was fixed upstream).

Re: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/guestfs-tools/ We had some problems with `libyara` which have been fixed upstream. The AUR package is up-to-date and hunky-dory.
