Switching from wayland to xorg is a solution, but why break stuff… Hope you fix it soon. :)

What do you mean?

I have reported the bug upstream, and they assumed it wasn't an upstream problem and closed it. Maybe the category shouldn't be upstream or maybe the bug is upstream but they don't care because officially they only support ubuntu.

I could be wrong, and we are simply missing a dependency for example (if so, you are right to report that here) but my gut feeling was it would be an upstream issue, and as you provided the upstream report I automatically labelled this upstream. I don't have the setup you describe and I cannot replicate this issue with my setup (xorg), so I would suggest you are the best person to debug this further, eg does it work with xorg and therefore a obs+wayland issue? If you can narrow it down as best as you can, and then discuss via support channels I think that would be the best route to take here.

Hey guys, this AUR package seems to solve the issue:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/obs-studio-tytan652

Reaching the maintainer and/or investigating PKGBUILD might give a clue here :)

Problem still exist on Wayland

Do you have qt5-wayland and xdg-desktop-portal installed? If not, could you try those (one at a time) and see if that resolves your issue?
Comment by Lenovsky (Lenovsky) - Sunday, 06 February 2022, 12:02 GMT
I've got both. Without qt5-wayland it won't even lunch and without xdg-desktop-portal it lunches but with a black screen.

Sorry I cannot replicate this issue. I have tried with GNOME and wayland, and it works with pipewire screen and window capture. I suggest you look for help in some support channels to debug your setup.
