Description:
packages bootstrapped using this version of libtool.m4, fail to correctly set the recommended linker flags starting with macOS 11. Additional info: * package version(s) * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=44605 Steps to reproduce: any package bootstrapped in Arch Linux will be affected, but will need a macOS host to reproduce. an example of the effect can be seen in : https://lists.gnupg.org/pipermail/gcrypt-devel/2021-September/005176.html the patch proposed upstream and currently (with some differences) in use by Homebrew and MacPorts: https://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/libtool-patches/2020-06/msg00001.html proposed patch attached |

alternatively, upgrading to libtool 2.4.7 would also solve this
bug
