DetailsI just did a fresh install on a new computer using the i686 2007.5 Duke iso.
I did a FTP install, including gnome-system-tools. When completed, the following menu items were missing from "System"-> "Administration" Boot Services Shared Folders Time and Date Users and Groups. The following .desktop files were found in /opt/gnome/share/applications. boot.desktop services.desktop shares.desktop time.desktop users.desktop When I copied these files to /usr/share/applications the menu items appeared as expected. Also, with gnome-system-tools installed, when you right click on the menu bar clock applet, you should get a menu item "Adjust Time and Date". This is not working either. I haven't figured out how to fix that one yet. Pudge |
This task depends upon

I want the firestarter GUI to automatically start when I initiate a Gnome session. I go to "System"->"Preferences"->"Session" and add "gksu firestarter" to the "Startup Programs" tab, and then Save Current Session. The next time I initiate Gnome, gksu firestarter doesn't start, and it is no longer in the "Startup Programs" tab. Sessions keeps dropping any added startup programs.
This works on my other existing Arch/Gnome systems.
Pudge
NotShowIn=KDE;GNOME;
Changed that line to
OnlyShowIn=GNOME;
and "Screensaver" is now back on the "System"->"Preferences" menu.
Pudge
/opt/gnome/bin/boot-admin
/opt/gnome/bin/services-admin
/opt/gnome/bin/shares-admin
/opt/gnome/bin/time-admin
/opt/gnome/bin/users-admin
to /usr/sbin
Now everything in the original post works, including the "Set Time and Date" when the clock on the menu bar is right clicked.
The only thing I haven't fixed at this time is adding to the "Startup Programs" tab in "System"->"Preferences"->"Session"
