Description:
With egl-wayland 1.1.8-1 installed, starting a Plasma Wayland session shows a black screen. The mouse cursor is responsive, and Alt-Tab shows a gray area where Plasma's normal task switching effect is displayed.

This does not occur with egl-wayland 1.1.7-1.

I'm using a laptop with Intel HD Graphics 520 and NVIDIA GeForce 940MX. I usually only use the NVIDIA card with nvidia-prime (__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __VK_LAYER_NV_optimus=NVIDIA_only __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia), so Plasma should be using the Intel card.

Additional info:
* package version(s)

egl-wayland 1.1.8
nvidia-dkms 470.63.01-1
xf86-video-intel 1:2.99.917+916+g31486f40-1
kwin 5.22.5-1
xorg-xwayland 21.1.2-1

* config and/or log files etc.

Is kwin attempting to use the nvidia card as the primary gpu now?

I can confirm. And this is now in extra repo. A lot of users will run into this issue.

gnome-shell uses nvidia as the primary gpu too when using egl-wayland 1.1.8 (as reported by gnome controll center). Which by itself runs but thrid party apps do not (i tested chromium and mpv). Also energy consumption is higher (because the nvidia gpu is not idle)

I also have this problem. I uploaded an attachment which is the wayland-session log generated by SDDM on egl-wayland 1.1.8

Confirmed to also impact the latest Hybrid Graphics configurations on GNOME 40. Almost exactly the same errors for the most part.

This package is causing widespread breakage and I recommend that the Arch team pin the version to 1.1.7-1 until the 495 NVIDIA driver is released.
