DetailsDescription:
Launching Steam normally, (no steam-runtime launch), causes to doesn't load the homepage, news, etc, being unable to load the Library. It's possible to circumvent this launching Steam via steam-runtime, this way, everything loads as expected, or if you just want to launch/play games, using Small Mode. I filed a bug on the Steam for Linux GitHub repo 2 days ago and a contributor told me that probably is a bug caused because of the changes/modifications made by the Arch Steam's maintainer. Additional info: * package version(s) Build 13th September 2021 (1.0.0.72-1 on Arch's repos) * config and/or log files etc. * link to upstream bug report, if any https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/8069 Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch Steam normally. 2. Wait to launch. 3. See the black screen no matter where you try to go. 4. Nothing appears on screen. |
This task depends upon
steamwebhelper.log
In practise /usr/bin/steam and /usr/bin/steam-runtime are identical in Arch. So you might be using some old steam.desktop (or variant thereof) which has quirks.
