Details
Description:
Running passmenu via dmenu doesn't work because without optional packages, pinentry only supports pinentry-curses and pinentry-tty, but none of the graphical versions. In particular it doesn't support pinentry-gtk2 which seems to be the default for gpg. Would it make sense to list the optional dependencies from pinentry also as optional dependencies for pass? gcr (optional) - gnome3 backend gtk2 (optional) - gtk2 backend qt5-base (optional) - qt backend At least it took me a little while to figure out why passmenu didn't work, maybe listing them would make it easier if someone else runs into the same problem. |

@rawlinsong: How do you feel about adding these? From a practical
point of view it would make sense to help the users but on the
other hand when pinentry is installed those optdeps are already
displayed.
Apologies for the late reply, I feel like it's creating extra
work, but on the other hand ... it is a valid bug. Do you want to
implement this, or shall I?
Thanks for getting back to this, rawlinsong. Would you mind taking
this? I'm a bit busy at the moment.
