Description:

Even if the "Firefox Data Collection and Use" feature can be disabled in Settings, the setting is per profile, if use the Firefox with another profile, it will be defaulted switched on again.

It would be nice to add patch to source tree to remove those sections.

For Android version of Firefox "Fenix", there is green build on F-Droid, please have a look https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.mozilla.fennec_fdroid/

I doubt if such a request will ever be implemented for extra/firefox, as packages generally follow upstream decisions. Anyway, let the maintainers decide.

Telemetry has been enabled *deliberately*, in the same settings as the official releases. Telemetry is important to Mozilla's decision-making and I think it's important that our users are not ignored.

Crash reports have helped locate and fix bugs before. We're submitting debug information for our builds to Mozilla. This also ensures that the developer tools' performance profiler (profiler.firefox.com) can make sense of native stack frames.
