Details
Description:
There are at least three kinds of artifacts/hangs on focus change: 1. The tab does not really close (there is still space for it in the tab bar, but the title is blank). 2. It takes seconds and/or at least one focus change until the tab shows properly (until then the old image is frozen). 3. There are lots of funny colored dots instead of a youtube.com video until one changes focus at least once. Additional info: * firefox 90.0.2-1 on * ArchLinux with unpatched kernel 5.13.4-ARNE on an * AMD A10 with a RX550 (POLARIS12, DRM 3.41.0, LLVM 12.0.1) * i attached the coredump summary * everything else runs fine and one can just restart firefox, when the artifacts and hangs become too bad... * but: it is not so good when this happens with an active peertube tab, because: it lowers the multiplication factor... Steps to reproduce: 1. start firefox 2. open youtube.com in two windows and multiple tabs 3. play a movie 4. wait 5. close some tabs and goto 2. (somewhen the artifacts will show up) |

FS#71612, i.e. a downgrade to kernel 5.12.x solves it?but the firefox-90 problems remained.
and only firefox behaves funny in my case.
i just found that firefox makes a lot of output to the terminal, if u start it in a terminal...
i attached that output...
that problem only shows on a single webpage so far... possibly it uses some weird video processing things...
my firefox-91 for office purposes did not show those artifacts...
i think the bug disappeared...
Command Line: /usr/lib/firefox/firefox -contentproc -parentBuildID 20210810191153 -prefsLen 1 -prefMapSize 254057 -appdir /usr/lib/firefox/browser 200689 true gpu
but those artifacts are almost completely gone...
the core dumps happen twice or about twice daily...
