doesn't work in a browser... but pops up as the url on contrasutras project for instance. I just felt it should be changed as the "$pkgname" part seemed lame to me...

It is very common to use the $pkgname and $pkgver variables within a PKGBUILD. As long as the package downloads correctly during 'makepkg', then this is not a bug. Once installed, a 'pacman -Qi libdaemon' shows the correct url. I'm closing this as 'Not a bug'.
