With texinfo-6.8, an error crept into the translation for pt_BR. This leads to an (unexplained) abort.

The error is a function name type in pt_BR.po: \[get-inffo-help-node] should read \[get-info-help-node] (l. 1042 of pt_BR.po)
This leads to an instantanous abort with core dump, whenever `info` is used. `info` itself offers no explanation to the abort (as one can see from the investigation in the original report)

Original report (with investigation): https://www.reddit.com/r/archlinux/comments/ophu9k/texinfo_not_working_sigabrt_core_dumped/
I've reported this upstream as well (via mail to bug-texinfo@gnu.org). I'll follow up with a link, when it hits the archives.

Solutions:
a) Wait for new texinfo release.
b) Fix typo in Arch.

I'd vote for b), because it renders the (not so unimportant) tool `info` useless in pt_BR locale. Due to the unavailability of a useful error message, changing the locale also isn't obvious as a fix.

Upstream has now fixed the general problem of aborting: https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/texinfo.git/commit/?id=04f7ed5ce647050f28106b589217fb2509626d38
Depending on when a new texinfo release is expected, this may be worth a backport.
