When starting a gnome shell wayland session on the nvidia 470 driver the UI (including the mouse cursor) are redrawn at a lower rate than when using an session. It appears to be half refresh rate with vsync enabled, but only 1 or 2 fps lower without (or with vrr).

There already is an upstream bugreport at with a pull request at that seems to fix this.

this seems to be fixed with gnome 41 currently in testing
