DetailsDescription:
Just updated my laptop (Dell Latitude E6410) on 14/07/21. Using nouveau 1.0.17-1 since 24/01/21. 64 bit system. When resuming from sleep, screen goes to thick black and white zigzags. Moving the mouse, and keyboard activity causes various coloured noise on screen. Xorg reports no problems. Same issue with KDE and LXDE. dmesg shows large number of errors from nouveau fb saying trapped read or trapped write, reason NULL_DMAOBJ. Downgraded the kernel to 5.10.16, problem disappeared. Additional info: * package version(s) Linux 5.12.15arch1-1 + headers + api headers * config and/or log files etc. Sorry I didn't copy dmesg before the downgrade - hope above info is enough! * link to upstream bug report, if any Steps to reproduce: Install linux-5.12.15.arch1-1-x86_64 with xf86-video-nouveau-1.0.17-1-x86_64, restart the laptop. Leave laptop to go to sleep, or close the lid. Wake up the laptop. |
