Description:

There is no .desktop file in the package leading to no out-of-the-box integration of the package into the GUI. Would it be possible that the file is provided downstream such as with other packages in similar situation?

This is something upstream really needs to do if at all possible. Have you contacted them first? Were they unwilling to provide one?

@drws: Thanks for the request.

Most of Fons' software offerings are rather bare bones, but you can reach him via mail and he is certainly open to suggestions and/or changes.

That being said, if you do so, you can either hack a file yourself or generate one using gendesk.
The larger issue here here might be though, that e.g. for ALSA integration a file might not be useful at all due to the many options (see `jaaa -h`).

For JACK integration it might be useful though.
