After upgrading to the new intel driver and specifying "intel" instead of "i810", X no longer works. It will show a black screen that eventually gets brighter and brighter and that's it, it never fully loads (e.g. xfce never displays). Downgrading to the previous i810 driver works.

This is with a Dell Latitude C400.

I don't know if my problem is related to this, but when using beryl everything turns blank. X doesn't crash, but everything is white.
Starting compiz or beryl from the command line I get this:
No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.

Metacity works fine.

Well, I just tried it again with xorg-server 1.3, and now X won't even start. I get the following error:

dlopen: /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so: undefined symbol: xf86SaveScreen
(EE) Failed to load /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers//intel_drv.so
(EE) Failed to load module "intel" (loader failed, 7)
(EE) No drivers available

I can use xorg-server 1.3 just fine with the i810 driver (although I need to specify a xorg.conf).
