I'm not a big fan of adding these desktop integration files downstream. Also, this would create duplicate entries for users who have both versions installed, I already get enough complaints with the qt5-tools menu entries alone.

I would prefer to have a desktop file for GUI applications, and it seems that it's common across distributions:
https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/openSUSE:Factory/qt6-tools
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/qt6-qttools/tree/rawhide

Duplicated entries can be avoided by removing desktop files from the qt5-tools package since it's the legacy version.

I agree with City-busz. Drop the .desktop entries from the qt5 version, and create them for this package instead.

I'm also in favor of adding the relative desktop files and icons. Anyway, there's no need to drop the qt5-tools version. You just need to edit them for the qt6 version.

Please ask upstream to include them so they are properly maintained and localized. I don't want to maintain these downstream.
