When using git clone from the latest git package ...

it doesnt clone the latest from the repote repository, rather it pulls an older commit to the repository....

To reproduce:
On: 1.5.1.3-1:
git clone http://archlinux.org/~james/projects/network.git
and you get this commit, which is about a month old:
http://archlinux.org/~james/projects/?p=network.git;a=tree;h=4a168481a6967653eb5d7db3b8484d9fc0d7cf3a;hb=4a168481a6967653eb5d7db3b8484d9fc0d7cf3a

whereas on the previous version (1.5.1-1), built from the PKGBUILD in cvs, it pulls the latest from the repository, as shown on the gitweb.

Interesting...
you do have the git-update-server-info hook set to execute on updates, correct?

I haven't noticed this problem with any of my uses yet, and I have a few things pulling over http.

In your http repository, run a "chmod +x hooks/post-update". Take a look at the man page for git-update-server-info for more on that. Then run it once on your own as well.
