You will need gstreamer0.10-taglib for editing id3 tags.

I've reinstalled it, and it's dependencies and doesn't work, I'm only able to view the tags, but editing is not possible.
(maybe the move to /usr of gnome scrumbled up something?)

I doubt it's caused by moving, I have never successfully got it work. gstreamer0.10-taglib has been installed, open a FLAC file, still nothing.

GStreamer 0.10 doesn't support flac id3 editing. Try MP3.

Unfortunately the same problem. In FAQ section of rhythmbox official site there is some quote:
[quote]
Why will preferences not let me edit my song tag info?

Some mp3s are not detected properly by GStreamer. Rhythmbox supports id3 tag editing as an experimental feature. This is a feature that will be supported at some point in the future. Use the --enable-tag-writing flag to configure to enable it, at your own risk obviously.

I may try it later.

And post message shows rhythmbox of Arch supports APE playing but anyone know how? If not please remove that part of message.

Compiled successfully (with --enable-tag-writing) but doesn't work either.

In Ubuntu Feisty this feautre is working flawlessly. On this page (http://packages.ubuntu.com/feisty/gnome/rhythmbox)a path can be found they uses, maybe it contains something related to this bug, because when Feisty was in late beta or RC state, this bug existed there, and when the final came, they fixed...
